DAY 1

Arrival and private boat transfer from Venice Airport to your accommodation. Free time and dinner. Overnight stay.

DAY 2

After breakfast immerse yourself in the extraordinary atmosphere of the La Fenice Theatre in Venice. Openedin 1792, the Theatre distilled and condensed a long and prestigious sequence of curtain calls and performances. Behind it, the city's tradition of dozens and dozens of competing theatres which made Venice one of Europe's most dynamic and stimulating theatrical contexts. Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti composed works expressly dedicated to the La Fenice Theatre which became irrevocably linked to the masterpieces which brought its stages to life. The rest of the day is at your disposal. Dinner in a local restaurant and overnight stay.

DAY 3

(Donizetti/Verdi): Breakfast. Transfer from your Villa to Bus Parking for you transfer to Florence. In the afternoon half day guided tour of Florence. It is build on the banks of the river Arno and lies harmoniously between the hills, famous for their villas. The capital of Tuscany is known worldwide for the richness of its art treasures and is generally considered the Queen of Renaissance. You will have the opportunity to admire the Duomo, Giotto-Tower, the Baptistery, Piazza della Signoria, the Church Santa Croce and the bridges over Arno, the theatre La Pergola (1656) first performance of the Opera Parisina by Donizetti, and Verdi's Macbeth. In addition if possible, attend a concert in one of the beautiful churches or theatres in Florence. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4

Breakfast. Depart for Lucca and visit to the city of the composer Puccini. Visit the Duomo di San Martino. In the afternoon reach Pisa, the home town of Galilei, who used the buildings of this city for his experiments. Visit the Campo dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower and the Cathedral. Return to Florence, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5

Breakfast. Departure for Rome. You may stop in San Gimignano or Siena for a short visit enroute. Arrival in Rome. Some time at disposal. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 6

(Rossini/Verdi/Puccini) Breakfast. Whole day guided tour through the Eternal City in the footsteps of Italian Composers. Under the guidance of an Art Historian the tour will start at Largo Argentina, where, next to the remains of ancient Roman temples stands the Teatro Argentina. In 1732, in this former royal Opera house the first performance of Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia took place. This was followed by the first night of the operas by Giuseppe Verdi: I due Foscari, La Battaglia di Legnano. After that we will visit the original locations of Puccini's Tosca: The Church Sant'Andrea della Valle, where the first act takes place, Piazza Farnese (location of the second act) and Castel Sant'Angelo (The third act). Afternoon at your disposal. Suggestion: Visit the famous Renaissance Piazzas of Rome, if desired with tour guide (OPTIONAL). The tour will end at the Hotel Hassler, at the top of the Spanish steps, where Verdi used to stay while visiting Rome. Dinner and overnight stay. If possible attend an opera performance at the Teatro Costanzi, now Teatro dell'Opera, where Tosca was performed for the first time.

DAY 7

(Donizetti/Verdi/Rossini): Breakfast. Departure for Naples. On arrival visit to one of the largest opera houses in Italy, which is at the same time considered one of the most beautiful in the world, the Teatro S. Carlo, built 1737. Here the Operas Lucia di Lammermoor, Poliuto by Donizzetti, Luisa Miller by Verdi and Otello and Moses by Rossini were performed for the first time. After that continue the visit to the historic town centre which is called by the locals Spaccanapoli with its famous churches and Palazzi. Check in at a beautiful Monastery-Villa. Dinner and overnight stay at the villa. On request, and if available attend a performance at Teatro San Carlo.

DAY 8

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!
