A trip between the coast and the interior of the island to admire the fascinating Sicilian cathedrals, from the Norman domination to the Baroque age, between ancient Orthodox rites and popular traditions.
Day 1
Monreale and Piana degli Albanesi
Arrival in Palermo and transfer to Monreale to visit the Norman cathedral and the nearby centre of San Martino delle Scale, which was built around the Benedictine abbey. Continuation on to Piana degli Albanesi, famous for the Byzantine rite, to visit the Cathedral of San Demetrio. After enjoying some cannoli, transfer to Trapani. Check-in at hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Trapani, Marsala and Mazara del Vallo
After breakfast, tour of the historic centre of Trapani with its Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Santa Maria del Gesù, and the Purgatorio Church, which holds the Sacred Groups of the Mysteries, carried in procession on Good Friday. Continuation on to Marsala, to admire its Baroque Cathedral, and transfer to Mazara del Vallo, for a visit to the Cathedral there. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Sciacca, Agrigento and Caltanissetta
After breakfast, transfer to Sciacca, famous for its ceramics. Tour of the historical centre and visit to the Cathedral, rebuilt in the 17th century over the original Norman structure. Continuation on to Agrigento, for a visit to its Norman
Cathedral, Santa Maria dei Greci, Santo Spirito, and the Purgatorio Church. Transfer to Caltanissetta to admire the Cathedral and Palazzo Moncada, an imposing 17thcentury building left unfinished. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight
stay.

Between Enna and Piazza Armerina
After breakfast, departure for Enna and tour of the town, with its Cathedral rebuilt in the 16th century. Continuation on to
Piazza Armerina, famous for its Villa Romana del Casale, and visit to the Baroque Cathedral. Check-in at the hotel, dinner
and overnight stay.

From Nicosia to Patti 
After breakfast, departure for Nicosia, for a visit to the Cathedral, and transfer to Mistretta to visit the Mother Church. Continuation on to Gibilmanna (Church of the Capuchins) and to Patti, to admire the Cathedral, erected in the 18th century on the site of the church ordered by Roger II to hold the remains of his mother Adelaide. Visit to the church of Sant’Agata at Castroreale. Dinner and overnight stay in Messina.

Lipari
After breakfast, transfer to Lipari by hydrofoil: tour of the town and visit to the Norman Cathedral. In the evening, return to Messina, dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Messina and Acireale
After breakfast, visit to the Cathedral of Messina, the churches of S.S. Annunziata dei Catalani and Santa Maria degli
Alemanni. Continuation on to Acireale, tour of the historical centre, and visit to the Cathedral. Departure from Catania airport.
