An exciting tour along the line of fire that unites Etna to the Aeolian Islands, daughters of the same "volcanic mother". Touching on the highest peaks, between active craters and dormant giants, you will see breathtaking landscapes, reflected by the vivid colours of the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 1
At the Foot of the Giant
Arrival in Catania and transfer by minibus to a shelter at Piano Provenzana, dinner and overnight stay.

Near the Craters
Departure with 4x4 jeep to ascend to 2800-3000 metres. The extraordinary, almost lunar, rocky layer will lead us to the
proximity of the central crater of Etna and, depending on the weather conditions, we will have the possibility to “touch the
lava”. Visit to the volcanological observatory. Excursion to the ancient craters and active ones; descent on foot; return to hotel/shelter, dinner and overnight stay. 5-hr walk.

Lipari: Pumice and Obsidian
Transfer by minibus to Milazzo; boarding and sailing to the island of Lipari, the largest of the archipelago; accommodation in a typical Aeolian house; visit to the beautiful Archaeology Museum, with a complete volcanology section, as well as an undersea archaeology section, which are unique in Europe. Bus tour of the island, with picnic lunch. Dinner at a characteristic restaurant.

Conquering Stromboli
Transfer by motor-ship to the island of Stromboli, the abode of Aeolus; trekking on the active volcano using the path that passes by the observatory and arrives to the summit. Here, a long stop to admire the impressive rhythmic activity of Stromboli, with the emission of volcanic bombs and fumaroles. Picnic lunch. Return by motorship to the island of Lipari; dinner at a typical restaurant. 6-hr walk.

Salina, a Green Crater 
Transfer by motor-ship to the island of Salina, known for its malmsey wine, capers, and the great blanket of vegetation that covers it. Trekking to the “Fossa delle Felci”, a nature reserve and the highest point of all the Aeolian Islands (962 m). Picnic lunch; return to the port of S. Marina di Salina or Rinella, walk through the seaside village and return by motor-ship to the island of Lipari. Dinner at a restaurant. 5- hr walk.

The Devil’s Paw at Vulcano
Transfer by motor-ship to the island of Vulcano; trekking on the active volcano and excursion to the famous Valley of Monsters; picnic lunch; return to Lipari with afternoon free for shopping. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight stay in
an apartment. 3-hr walk.

Boarding and transfer by ship to Milazzo. Continuation by minibus to Catania airport.
