Small and solitary, the island of Ustica is a splendid strip of dark, volcanic land lit by spectacular blooming flowers and bathed by the extraordinary waters of the first Italian marine reserve. In its dense light it shines as the "black pearl of the Mediterranean".
Day 1
Beauties on Land
Arrival at the airport of Palermo or train station, transfer to the harbour by bus, to take the hydrofoil to Ustica. Just the time necessary for check-in at the hotel and for getting to know our nature guide, and we’re off on the first excursion: a walk through the nature reserve, amidst Mediterranean brush, pricklypears, and breathtaking landscapes. The small wood, blessed by a mild climate all year round and enlivened by the continuous flight of birds, has Phoenician, Roman, and Bourbon remains, and will offer us, too, a pleasant site for a picnic; in the evening, return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Marvels of the Sea
After breakfast at the hotel, our day begins with a boat ride to explore the marine reserve, the first one created in Italy. We will be able to swim in the crystal clear waters with groupers and white breams, or go diving to visit the colourful shoals, full of archaeological remains; snack on the boat; in the evening return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Inside the Sound Caves 
Breakfast at the hotel and excursion to the “Acqua” and “Pastizza” caves. We will enjoy an atmospheric walk among stalactites and stalagmites. Here, inside the caves, it is possible to listen to the characteristic sound effects; outside we can admire the landscape of the high, black pyramidal cliffs of lava. Picnic during the excursion. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Relaxing at the Harbour
Breakfast at the hotel. A day of relaxation in the centre of the only town on the island, which carries its same name, Ustica, with clear Bourbon influences. Tour of the town and the possibility to do some shopping in the narrow little streets of the centre before boarding for Palermo. Transfer to Palermo airport or train station for departure.
